FR / Jean-Daniel est directeur de recherche Inria depuis 2006 et responsable de l’équipe projet Inria Aviz qu’il a créé en 2007 et qui a rejoint l’université Paris-Saclay en 2020. Il est membre senior de l’IEEE. Ses domaines de recherche sont la Visualisation Analytique, la Visualisation d’Information et l’Interaction Homme-Machine. Il a publié plus de 150 articles dans de multiples conférences et journaux, dont les plus prestigieux en visualisation (TVCG, InfoVis, EuroVis, PacificVis) et interaction humain-machine (CHI, UIST). Son objectif scientifique est de permettre d’explorer et de comprendre des données complexes à l’aide de représentations visuelles interactives.  Il a reçu le IEEE VGTC Visualization Career Award en 2020, et il est membre de la IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy et ACM SIGCHI Academy. Il est aussi membre du comité de publication de Eurographics, rédacteur en chef associé de IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, et président du comité de la meilleure thèse de Eurovis. Il a été le président de l’association francophone d’interaction Homme-Machine (AFIHM) jde 2009 à 2013.

EN / Jean-Daniel has been an Inria research director since 2006 and is in charge of the Inria Aviz project team, which he created in 2007 and which joined Paris-Saclay University in 2020. He is a senior member of the IEEE. His research areas are Analytical Visualization, Information Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction. He has published more than 150 papers in multiple conferences and journals, including the most prestigious ones in visualization (TVCG, InfoVis, EuroVis, PacificVis) and human-computer interaction (CHI, UIST). His scientific goal is to enable the exploration and understanding of complex data using interactive visual representations.  He received the IEEE VGTC Visualization Career Award in 2020, and is a member of the IEEE VGTC Visualization Academy and ACM SIGCHI Academy. He is also a member of the Eurographics publication committee, associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, and chair of the Eurovis best thesis committee. He was the president of the French-speaking association of Human-Computer Interaction (AFIHM) from 2009 to 2013.
